Step by step
Abdominal cavity approach
Mark the incision 1 hand width under the xiphoid process and 1 cm to the right lateral side of the midline. This location corresponds with the fundus of the gallbladder.
Make a 5 centimeter horizontal skin incision with a scalpel. If more exposure is needed, this skin incision can be extended over the midline towards the left side.
