Mark the incision line 1 cm above the clavicle. Starting just adjacent to the lateral head of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and extending laterally 8 – 10cm towards the head of the humerus.

Incision location

The incision is typically centered over the middle third of clavicle but may be extended medially and laterally if required.
